North Country Human Resources Association

The North Country Human Resource Association (NCHRA) has an agreement with the Northern New York Community Foundation, Inc. to provide an annual $1,000 college scholarship for full-time traditional and non-traditional students residing in either Jefferson or Lewis Counties pursuing programs in the following areas of study: Human Resource Management, Business Management, Business Administration, Employee Health and Safety, and Labor Relations.

This is a great opportunity to give back to our community and to recognize the many quality students in the North Country who wish to study a business related program in college. Both NCHRA members and their family's members are eligible to apply since no one in the NCHRA will actually be taking part in the selection process.

The North Country Human Resources Association, Inc. wishes to congratulate Matthew Cleaver, a 2011 graduate of Watertown High School, as the third annual NCHRA $1,000 scholarship awardee. Matthew will attend SUNY Potsdam and plans on majoring in Business Administration. In high school, Matthew worked at his family’s business, White’s Lumber, played varsity soccer, was a member of Watertown High School Business Club and helped in various fund raising programs for numerous non-profit organizations, to include: American Cancer Society and Coaches Versus Cancer. Matthew has two other siblings in college and plans on remaining in the North County upon graduation from college.
