North Country Human Resources Association

The North Country Human Resource Association (NCHRA) has an agreement with the Northern New York Community Foundation, Inc. to provide an annual $1,000 college scholarship for full-time traditional and non-traditional students residing in either Jefferson or Lewis Counties pursuing programs in the following areas of study: Human Resource Management, Business Management, Business Administration, Employee Health and Safety, and Labor Relations.

This is a great opportunity to give back to our community and to recognize the many quality students in the North Country who wish to study a business related program in college. Both NCHRA members and their family's members are eligible to apply since no one in the NCHRA will actually be taking part in the selection process.

The NCHRA Board would like to announce the second recipient of the newly established NCHRA Scholarship for 2010. Matthew received a $1,000.00 scholarship.

This year's recipient is Matthew Turcotte, a graduate of Thousand Islands Central School. He will be attending Clarkson University, majoring in Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship. In high school, he established and continues to run his own business, North Shore Web Development, creating websites for businesses. He also wrote and published a book, "From Main Street to Mainstream," to help businesses create a web presence, and was featured on the cover of Absolutely Business in November 2009.
